The Antonio "Tony" Aguirre Memorial Scholarship

As a continuing memorial to Antonio "Tony" Aguirre, his family, friends and members of the Hollister Fire Department Local 3395 and Paid-Called Firefighters have established the ANTONIO "TONY" AGUIRRE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND. At least two scholarships of $1,000 will be given annually based on the availability of funds to deserving individuals chosen by the selection committee. Scholarship recipients will be selected and notified by June 1st each year.

Application Requirements

Fire Science Majors.
This scholarship is limited to students of San Benito High School.
Applicants must have a minimum G.P.A. of 3.0 at the time of application.
Full time or part time students carrying a minimum of 9 units may apply.
Scholarship is for 1 year.
Applicants or recipients may re-apply.

Administration

The funds will be held at South Valley Bank.
The scholarship shall be $1,000 annually.
If donations or funds increase annually, additional scholarships shall be granted.
The scholarship shall be managed by H.F.D. LOCAL 3395 & PAID-CALL FIREFIGHTERS.
Recipients will be notified by June 1st of each year.

A scholarship check will be sent directly to the college of the recipient's choice which may credit the recipient's account for tuition, books, laboratory fees, or other academic costs. Personal allowances or expense moneys are not permitted. The check will be sent after proof of acceptance to a school is provided.

Application must meet eligibility requirements as stated above.

Students academic/career goals.

The students scholastic involvement (student government, sports, music, etc.)

The student's community involvement (volunteer work, junior service clubs, etc.)
